Special features of the programme

The flexible part-time programme includes ten modules that allow working professionals and international students living abroad to participate. The programme places a special focus on flexibility: six modules are hosted by the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany. Four further modules take place at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) in Switzerland.

To get to know the Executive MBA in Business & IT programme, it is possible to participate in a first module followed by certification. Should you decide to complete the programme, a repetition of this module is not necessary.

Start of studies

Students can start their studies either in April or in October.

Procedure of the admission process

The process consists of several application rounds and the responsible persons check all the documents received before the next round begins. The sooner you submit all documents completely and correctly, the sooner you will receive a response.  International students who have completed their first degree outside the EU are advised by the TUM School of Management to submit their application no later than the second round in order to complete the process on time.

The selection of students for the Executive MBA Program at the TUM School of Management follows a three-step process:

  1. Registration and submission of application documents
  2. Review of the application documents with regard to the central TUM admission requirements, taking into account the personal motivation and goals of the candidates.
  3. Invitation of pre-selected candidates to a personal interview.

  • Master’s entry qualification (Bachelor equal to the German system with 180 or 210 ECTS, Diploma, Magister, “Staatsexamen”)
  • Proof of at least three years of relevant full-time professional work experience (after first degree) – initial leadership experience is an advantage
  • Proficiency in English (skills will be assessed during the admission process)
  • Passing the multi-stage admissions process successfully

What technical requirements/work equipment do I need?

No special IT skills necessary, notebooks are sometimes required for the courses.

What languages do participants need to know?

The Executive MBA is held entirely in English. Applicants should therefore have a very good command of English.
